Our talented trainers will help you every step of the way
Brett Jones
Brett has worked in Sports Development for 15 years, with a focus on Disability and Inclusive Sport. As part of the role, Brett delivers Disability Inclusion Training. He is also our Internal Verifier for the Sport Leaders UK courses we offer. Outside of Denbighshire Leisure, Brett is a coach with a local football team, something he has been doing for the past 10 years.
Bryn O'Brien
Bryn joined the DLL team over 10 years ago as a Leisure Attendant and has covered a variety of roles since then, including teaching swimming classes. Bryn has racked up hundreds of hours lifeguarding across various DLL sites and has taught many people to swim, so knows these roles like the back of his hand. Now working as a Leisure Supervisor at a big attraction, Bryn is experienced in not only carrying out the roles himself, but in coaching and supporting others to become excellent lifeguards and swimming teachers.
Charlie J Williams
Charlie has worked for DLL for 8 years now and has a wealth of experience in all things pool related. As a qualified Lifeguard and Swimming Teacher, and currently a Duty Officer in SC2, Charlie has plenty of hands on experience of both working in our pools, and managing our pool staff at our most unique site.
Cheryl Cuckson-Williams
Cheryl is a highly experienced Trainer and Duty Officer, with a wide range of experience and knowledge in the Leisure industry. She has worked in a number of roles within Leisure, and has spent hundreds of hours teaching and training both STA and NPLQ courses. Cheryl not only teaches the Swimming and Lifeguard courses to our learners, but also trains our trainers! She really does know everything there is to know about being a Swimming Teacher and a Leisure Attendant/Lifeguard.
Gareth Owen
Gareth has worked in leisure for over 30 years and in that time has undertaken pretty much every role we can think of in the leisure industry. Currently working as an Assistant Leisure Operations Manager managing 4 busy sites, Gareth started his leisure career as a Leisure Attendant, and quickly started teaching swimming lessons shortly after that. During his time in DLL, Gareth has racked up thousands of hours lifeguarding, teaching others to swim and training new staff. Gareth really does know everything about being a lifeguard and swimming teacher.
Karen Bee
Karen Bee has a wealth of experience in delivering and assessing a range of leisure and hospitality courses, having delivered these for over 20 years. Karen delivers all our face to face, in-house courses, from the NPLQ to Food Hygiene.
Michelle Kay
Michelle is a highly experienced Duty Officer and Trainer, with a wealth of knowledge and experience in the industry. Having worked in Leisure for over 15 years, Michelle has plenty of experience delivering swimming classes and lifeguarding. As a Duty Officer with nearly a decade of leadership under her belt, Michelle is a pro at coaching others new to the world of leisure and getting the best out of everyone.
Olivia Edwards
Olivia joined the DLL team in early 2020 as a Leisure Attendant at Denbigh Leisure. Since then, she has not only spent hundreds of hours lifeguarding, she’s also taken on numerous other roles, from being the friendly face as customers walk in to teaching swimming lessons. As an act up Supervisor, Olivia as plenty of experience on helping others learn what to do.
Olivia Trimm
Olivia started her DLL career back in 2017 as a Leisure Attendant and is now a Duty Officer in one of our biggest sites. As a keen fitness enthusiast, Olivia has range of experience in leisure, from running fitness classes to lifeguarding. During her career, Olivia has spent hundreds of hours lifeguarding and knows the role inside and out. As an NPLQ Trainer, Olivia is now able to share her wealth of knowledge with those she trains.
Sion Spencer
Sion joined the DLL team early 2019 as a Leisure Attendant and quickly rose to his current position of Supervisor due to his fantastic people and leadership skills. During his time in DLL, Sion has spent hundreds of hours teaching swimming classes and lifeguarding at our pools, as well as coaching and supporting his team to be their best. Sion is now a Trainer for our NPLQ courses and enjoys being able to teach others how to do this to a high standard.
