First Aid at Work
Description
The First Aid at Work course provides learners with the skills and knowledge to deal with situations where someone needs first aid in a real life emergency situation. After this course, you'll develop the first aid skills and confidence to help someone who:
- is unresponsive and breathing
- is unresponsive and not breathing, including how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED)
- is choking
- is bleeding
- is suffering from shock
- has burns
- has a head injury
- has hypothermia or heat exhaustion
- has an injury to a bone, muscle or joint (including spinal injuries).
Learners will also be able to help a casualty who is having a; seizure, heart attack, stroke, asthma attack, severe allergic reaction, diabetic emergency.
First Aid at Work is delivered in a classroom setting with hands on learning. The full course is spread over 3 days, whilst the refresher course is conducted over 2.
